Astronauts are praised because its a border / exploratory / highly risky / go where no one has been / thing. Which is by definition a male thing. So there´s always going to be a top male there, hence the praise. But making the world a better place? nope!

I’m fairly skeptical on how much social workers give in terms of value.

Much of what they do seems to be a lot of talking, and unintentionally making life’s losers think that they miserable circumstances are not “really” their own fault.

My best guess is that 1 out of 7 to 1 out of 10 social workers actually accomplishes anything meaningful.

 

Just because meddling is sanctioned by some government body or other does not mean we should assign a professional designation to it.
